Re: False and Misleading Information about Lyme Disease.

Modifying or changing accepted definitions - or creating altogether new ones - to suit research ends is a dicey thing. It can backfire. Of course, this would be nothing new in the Lyme realm. Categorizing late manifestations of the disease into major and minor symptoms comes to mind, and I think tha...

Re: False and Misleading Information about Lyme Disease.

You are incorrect in at least part of your claims. Even the IDSA will only commit to a "majority" of patients are cured, but as you well know studies range from up to 5% to up to 20% - and some higher - of patients will not be cured. As for seropositivity, go take a quick read of your IDSA manual. L...

Re: False and Misleading Information about Lyme Disease.

Yes. I agree with you; there are two sides to that coin. Re: False and Misleading Information about Lyme Disease.

Until treatment has a 100% efficacy rate, there clearly is more to be said - and I don't think it a stretch to speculate that the NIH, and the CDC, and those that set Lyme policy at the IDSA, know this. The fact remains that the diagnostic criteria are insufficient to conclusively demonstrate an act...

Re: False and Misleading Information about Lyme Disease.

"...since you are unable to prove that you now are actively infected..." Then you might as well throw out 99.99% of all of the Lyme diagnoses that have been formally reported as Lyme each and every year since the inception of the 2T as a diagnostic tool, and reported as such to their respective stat...

Re: False and Misleading Information about Lyme Disease.

Oh, it wasn't the doctor's fault. I wouldn't sue anybody anyway. Mistakes happen. It is shitty to be on the wrong end, but I don't believe this clinic deliberately made a bad call out of meanness of spirit. They just made a bad call. The NIH was kinda cautious, if I can use that word. And they didn'...
