Re: The depression and feelings of doom

I would also suggest having your vitamin D levels checked. My doctor put me on a vitamin D supplement after finding my levels were extremely low. The supplement helped improve my mood a great deal.

Re: Willy Burgdorfer PhD. A more complete biography

It would appear this was lifted from the relative risk website:

I don't know about creepy, but hv808ct's post does show a decided lack of character.

Re: Could Depression Actually Be a Form of Infectious Diseas

Wouldn't that be ironic given depression seems to be the go to diagnosis for infectious disease doctors when they can't figure something out. I think at this time the only clear thing about depression and anxiety is we do not know a lot about what the underlying causes are. I saw a recent study on m...

Re: US LNB with cranial polyneuritis & radiculoneuritis

I think part of the reason for the assumption b. garinii and b. afzelii is not found in the U.S. is based on what is being found when surveying tick populations. At least that seems to be the reason I came across most often while doing research. Some of it also seems to be based more on wishful thin...

Re: Neurological Complications of Lyme Disease

From the descriptions I've read so far I'm hoping this is the answer to my back issues. If it is, that will make 2 neurologists, and three orthopedics that have failed to explain it. Given that I have late stage lyme and other peripheral neuropathies, and have had severe mood disturbances, memory p...

Re: US LNB with cranial polyneuritis & radiculoneuritis

Speaking from experience, I live in the United States and was most likely infected in Asia. I can say trying to get a doctor to order anything but the standard US test was impossible. I kept pointing out I was infected overseas but they kept telling me it didn't matter the test would catch it. The r...

Three Sudden Cardiac Deaths Associated with Lyme Carditis

Just saw several news articles referencing this from the CDC:

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtm ... mm6249a1_w

It does not appear any of the three patients suspected Lyme disease prior to their deaths.

Re: Test Kits for Detecting European/U.S. LB

Here is an article on Chinese testing for borrelia: http://www.besjournal.com/Articles/Archive/2013/No3/201302/t20130220_77498.html They didn't use test kits. SDS‐PAGE and WBs Sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS‐PAGE) was performed by standard methods. The prepared antige...

Re: Test Kits for Detecting European/U.S. LB

Does anyone know if there is any information on the reliability of European/U.S. test kits on strains acquired in Asia?

Re: Borrelia bissettii and miyamotoi in California

I believe I was infected with something while on a trip to Japan back in 1992. Began to suspect some sort of borrelia infection late last year after years of strange mental and physical symptoms. I live in Wisconsin and had an ELISA test performed which came back negative. I have been trying to get ...
