Re: Lyme Disease Presenting as Isolated Acute Urinary Retent
Nothing new to add but just commenting that neurogenic bladder , or similar bladder issues, are common in patients I know. When I was in much worse shape than I am now, and would start a heavy antibiotic regime, sometimes I would kind of feel better in the first day or so, before the die-off hit me....

Re: Validity of the CDC 2-tiered Test for Late Lyme Borrelio
Lorima: My, my. All of the medical text books and journals are wrong? No one can trust the CDC and NIH, least of all the IDSA? All of the knowledge derived from NIH-supported evidence-based research can't be trusted either? It doesn't require much intelligence to offer such destructive and jaded ne...

Re: Validity of the CDC 2-tiered Test for Late Lyme Borrelio
That is another symptom of the larger problem. Lyme can be a very big deal and most docs don't know that. My EM was a solid patch of red until I looked at it a couple days later and it was faded in the center and just a big circle around the site of the tick attachment. A day after that it was gone....

Re: Virginia Lyme bill
Camp Other, I just spent half an hour typing to you and lost it so sorry for short reply. I do agree with you on ALMOST everything. I was joking about the threat. As for Steere being a leader, he is, whether Lyme patients want him to be or not. Imagine a few letters/publications to the New England J...

Re: Virginia Lyme bill
Good points, about diverting the discussion, Migs. But I wonder why you characterize Dr. Steere as "intelligent and noble". Do you think the two-tier test is suitable to use as a diagnostic requirement? That's at the root of the Virginia bill. The test was designed by Dr. Steere, and he has success...

Unfortunate...more unfortunate is that it's not a rare slip through the cracks or just a bad ID doc.

Re: Virginia Lyme bill
Bagge and Henry are pulling things off course a bit here. How does a doctor informing a patient about an unreliable test relate to the Hyperbaric Chamber doc, or Dr. Klinghardt wearing his druid hat thousands of miles away in Seattle? Also, thinking that if a doc treats Lyme Disease he or she must b...

Re: The Patient Experience
migs, have you looked into Mycoplasma or Chlamydia as co-infections ? Chlamydia is an intracellular pathogen which, in my opinion, is hugely underestimated as a coinfection with lyme. People think everyone has chlamydia and it is therefore harmless. But it seems that its chronic form can be as diff...

Re: Virginia Lyme bill
I see your point Henry but in my experience, most GPs write an order and do not explain (and I doubt are aware of)the validity of the result. I keep in touch with a local Lyme sufferer who is a recently retired GP. His case was very similar to mine...textbook classic in all aspects following his tic...
