Re: Randomized, placebo-controlled trial of repeated IV ABX

if you believe the problem is autoimmune and NOT chronic infection, why not try immune-modulating or inhibiting drugs instead of anti-bacterials? (not a recommendation, just a thought) I don't think the problem, nor the answer, is as black-and-white as that. There exists a good amount of data backi...

Re: The Hocus-Pocus of the Salt & Vitamin C Protocol

I personally have found nothing valid about "Lyme photos;" I take any advice that site recommends with a grain of salt ... pun fully intended.

Re: Cytokine storm or immunopathology

I have recently started reading up on cytokines, but I had not yet found anything like the article you posted. I think you're onto so...

Re: What is true about the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction?

There are people who use Dr. Burrascano's (ILADS) guidelines as the end-all be-all of Lyme and co-infection treatment. While I'm sure that these guidelines have their merits, they seem to have spurred a dogma of sorts among some of the more disillusioned patients. One of these dogmas surrounds the h...

Re: Effect of two macrolides on production of cytokines

I think the article explains why macrolides can be so effective against chronic- and post-Lyme despite their poor penetration past the blood-brain barrier. In my previous research, I have found a correlation between cytokine production and a number of symptoms many of us seem to share ... it appears...

Re: Randomized, placebo-controlled trial of repeated IV ABX

In a new study I would like them to test several oral ABX treatments. I'm right there with you, Martian. I was on oral azithromycin and plaquenil for six months, and I was already in late stage when I started taking them. I noticed a dramatic improvement within the first couple of weeks (insomnia g...
