Re: Are Mycobacterium Drugs Effective for Treatment Resistant Lyme Disease, etc.

@ Stella I think it is pretty unlikely that the authors didn't actually read the study carefully and highly doubt that they intended any misrepresentation. My best guess is that whoever proof-read this made a serious error by not noticing one word was left out in the sentence, i.e. "infected". Nonet...

Re: "Relative Risk" blog has been removed (?)

It appears that "Relative Risk" is gone again. I checked the blog this morning to see if he had posted any new information from recently published studies. Last time I looked a few days ago, his last entry was in early June. The current message (again) when you try to access the site is: Blog has be...

Re: CCL19 as a Chemokine Risk Factor for Post-Treatment Lyme

duncan, you've also raised good points. First for anyone who has had problems accessing the full text to "Development of a foundation for a case definition of post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome" using the link I provided, there is an easier way to access this. I have no idea why that link doesn't ...

Duncan wrote: I wonder what the authors mean by "an operationalized definition of PTLDS..." They created this "operationalized definition" in order to properly study patients who very specifically would be characterized as having PTLDS versus having other symptom sequelae that would not qualify as f...

CCL19 as a Chemokine Risk Factor for Post-Treatment Lyme

Hopefully, eventually the full-text version will become open access. In the meantime, it appears that this is abstract only. I would love to see the full report! Effect of Ginger on the Pharmacokinetic of Metronidazole in Rabbit

I noticed this study and thought perhaps this is one possible reason patients might have problems tolerating metronidazole. A lot of us do use ginger either in food or to reduce nausea. It is a study in rabbits, so it is hard to know whether this effect also applies for humans, but it likely could. ...
