Re: Bullying Borrelia

Doctor, I don't see a reason to apology nor hard feelings. I commented that a statement "One Million New Cases of Lyme Borreliosis in Germany in 2012" is hysterical, and does not build a confidence. It reminds me of one LLMD who said that everyone has Bb infection or another LLMD who said that all c...

Re: Bullying Borrelia

Sorry, I don't buy one million new cases in one year in Germany at all. TBDs are a serious medical problem, but please don't make such hysteria if you want to be treated seriously by others.

Re: Bullying Borrelia

Tosho: In all fairness, I must say that this is highly speculative since many of the symptoms are non-specific (not unique or diagnostic for any particular infection) and may not even be due to any sort of infectious disease at. That possibility is just as likely under such circumstances. If that p...

Re: Bullying Borrelia

Tosho: When you refer to TBDs, which specific infections are you including. It depends on region, but the most commonly mentioned are: Bb, protozoals (like Babesia), Anaplasmas, and Bartonella. (transmission of Bartonella, according to the IDSA experts panel, is not likely, despite the fact that ti...

Re: Bullying Borrelia

Please note that my last comment was not directed at Tosho, but at Duncan Huh, that only shows that we "run circles" again, discussing the same problems. And - the evidence is not so unequivocal, so I would not say that those who say that chronic TBDs exist deal with fiction or there is completely ...

Re: Bullying Borrelia

Thank you, I've already had an opportunity to experience "school" of thinking, which dr. Auwaerter and Melia represents, and I am happy I didn't turn into a vegetable. Not every researcher on TBDs is "trashed", in fact, I would say that only this minor group of same names is criticized by patients. ...

Re: Bullying Borrelia

Looks like in this paper is a scenario mentioned by me earlier. Infection only with Bb, not so serious symptoms (I don't want to say who is sicker/ less sick, but I really wish to have only arthritis from time to time). We should be aware that on a second side there are less "optimistic" scenarios w...

Re: Bullying Borrelia

In the absence of laboratory test data and based on symptoms alone, there is no definition of Lyme disease as a distinct clinical entity, i.e., a minimal definition that would enable one to distinguish Lyme disease from other non-infectious conditions with SIMILAR symptoms (e.g. fibromyalgia etc.)....
