Re: Blumenthal Announces Grant for Lyme Disease Testing

I tweeted this recently. I'm interested in hearing more about this test because I get the impression they are looking to develop a test that is similar to one used for dogs in detecting Lyme disease. Also, I get the impression that they're working on a direct detection test.

Re: Patient-Formulated Lyme Disease Survey Draft

This is excellent. Meticulous. Seriously good work. Danke! Thanks :) Still, the length of the survey - unless we cut it back significantly - if it stood as is, typically would be problematic. Re: Patient-Formulated Lyme Disease Survey Draft

I just wanted to jump in here for a sec and thank Camp Other and Duncan and dif for bringing this subject up and for being so specific with it. I always had long hair, but had to cut it because I couldn't raise my arms over my head, let alone brush it! (Happily, I'm more able now, and my hair has g...

Re: Patient-Formulated Lyme Disease Survey Draft

Realized that giving a subject the option to opt out due to not having hair is data, but I'm missing data in the other direction: Hair of different lengths will take more time and effort to brush through. So I'm adding to these questions... --------------------------------------------------- Amendme...

Re: Patient-Formulated Lyme Disease Survey Draft

CO, I like what you have done with physical exertion. It is very specific, and I think we need specificity. Yes, I'm trying to come up with specific quantitative data related to physical exertion. And to list common activities that most people would typically engage in, which gets harder because I'...

Re: Patient-Formulated Lyme Disease Survey Draft

So, I made this rough outline regarding symptoms one may feel upon physical exertion as well as repetition of motion and duration of physical movement before pain then muscle fatigue set in... I don't know if this is the greatest layout, but I'm hoping it's at least a starting point for trying to ca...

Inadequacy of IgM Antibody Tests for Diagnosis of RMSF

Just thought I'd post this as a point of interest in discussing the value of IgM, IgG serology in making a diagnosis. Inadequacy of IgM Antibody Tests for Diagnosis of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25092818 Abstract Among 13 suspected Rocky Mountain spotted fever (...
