How long can DNA from dead bacteria remain in the body?

This we have asked many times in this forum!

I have tried to find some info, and I found some Swedish info:

http://www.skane.se/upload/Webbplatser/ ... ia_DNA.pdf

A quote:
Positivt utfall (DNA) tolkas som tecken på pågående eller nyligen genomgången infektion. Negativt
utfall utesluter inte infektion.
Translation (with google translate and me):
A positive test (DNA) is interpreted as a sign of ongoing or recent infection. A negative test does not exclude infection.

Some interesting information can be found in the topic below:

"Dead Borrelia are PCR Negative while Live borrelia are PCR+"
