Animal rights activist's conviction stands
A Zurich court has upheld the conviction of an animal rights activist who compared Novartis CEO Daniel Vassella to Adolf Hitler.
The canton’s high court slightly reduced the man’s sentence (to 60 day fines of 130 francs).
Erwin Kessler mused on a website that Novartis’s animal testing might be an affront to those who sacrificed themselves to assassinate Hitler.
The court said the comparison was misplaced, false and highly offensive.
