Yes, I think this is the case.There have been other definitions of chronic Lyme disease put forth, they just have not been accepted by the IDSA, CDC and NIH.
I suggest that everyone use the original definition of chronic (Lyme) borreliosis, which can be found in the first post in this thread!With regards to chronic Lyme disease, the situation is more complex. There is no one accepted definition for chronic Lyme disease...

The term "chronic borreliosis" is used differently in different environments. Medical professional environment uses the term for stage 3 of the disease, ie an untreated Borrelia infection for at least 6 months. Six months is a common limit for counting a disease as chronic. In such cases, the borrelia bacterium is still active in the body.
