Blebs of Borrelia burgdorferi-
Continuously shed fromthe slime layer of the spiral and cystic forms of borrelia burgdorferi.
Blebs contain borrelia DNA
Blebs are too small to be seen with the ordinary microscope

Please read the full article. Please examine the Images from the article.

to Ponder:

the role of blebs ( liposome-like microvesicles) in the pathogenesis of inflammation
invarious Lyme syndromes.
the role of blebs as pathogens which invade the cytoplasm of human cells
the role of blebs as pathogens which invade the Nucleus of Human cells
the role of blebs as a biological disease multipliers in LB --- no limit for the number of
blebscwhich might be released from a single spiral borrelia as it moves through
human tissue during its lifetime.
the possibility that part of the erythema in erythema migrans is a tissue response
to the blebs ( invisible by ordinary microscopic examination) EM lesions are
notoriously "poor" in spiral borrelia number in skin biopsies from either
the advancing "red edge or beyond and in biopsies from the center tick bite site
region.
the possibility that internalized blebs in effect set up the parasitized cells
for immune attack by the host cellular and antibody arms of the immune system.
the possibility that blebs are a superior theory for pathogenesis of chronic Lyme
arthritis than is the Amber theory (dead encrusted bugs) of Wormser et al.

Best,
