My crotch is on fire ...

Post by Cobwebby » Sun 6 Jul 2008 14:48

I love this Rifampin for what it's doing for my head-but 'down under' in bush country ,eeegads. I am in so much agony I may not be able to wait until Tuesday's appointment with LLMD. I need relief NOW.

I take the probioitcs and have had improvement with bowels, but as I said-in other areas, it's misery. I bought some over the counter Yeast medication to help alleviate the pain-but that just made things throb even more. Now I am saturating with Witch Hazel to cool off-with minimal relief.

I may have to resort to walk in "Patient First" today. If I can get through childcare duties at church. I'm at my wit's end on this one. Being new to this area I have not hooked up with a local GYN person yet. But I think the problem is obvious-it has NEVER been this bad. :x

I've had that problem off and on, since I started the Ceftin. Found Yeast-gard works pretty well (yes it's homeopathic, but it works anyway). I bought the topical gel. Takes a day or so to really kick in, but oh! such blessed relief.

YE-OWCHHH!

Is witch hazel the correct thing to use? Seems to me it's stings a bit?

****Astringents are substances that can dry, tighten, and harden tissues. You may use an astringent on your skin to tighten pores and remove excess oil. *****

Witch Hazel is more for hemmoroids-but I waa desperate-and it's cooling.

No yeast gard at Vitamin Shoppe or Target. :( Have to settle for Vagasil meanwhile. Can't wait to get my hands on some Diflucin or Nystatin. Especially since I want to stay on Rifampin forever-it's my drug of choice right now. :-P

That sounds just awful! Knock on wood; I've never had too bad of yeast problems, even when I was on antibiotics. I've heard it can get pretty painful, though....

Cobwebby:

According to www.drugdigest.com rifampin interacts with diflucan in such a way that more diflucan would be needed to help. Nystatin will help the gut, but not the female yeast. Hope it gets better for you, soon.

Cobby...

In lieu of diflucan, when i am out (I don't like to be out...)

I would get a 3 day combo cream from Monistat. It come with internal and external creams, to get rid of the pain and 'fire' immediately while waiting.

Works best for me, just so you have my two cents.

I second itsy's recommendation for Monistat. OTC.

It may help you a lot.

The only caveat is---- if you're going to a doc and they do an exam to culture that may skew the results.

But, for what you're going through--- I say SKEW the results!! Get some relief!

Been there done that.
